Supporting local organisations with similar values to our own is something that we pride ourselves on, here at Alert Health. So, we’re incredibly pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring Spokes for Folks again this year!
Spokes for Folks is a Cycling UK affiliated community group supported by volunteers, who have raised the funds to buy electric-assist trikes that are then used to reconnect the elderly with the community by taking them for social rides in greenspaces around Inverness.
Moira Finlayson, a volunteer for Spokes For Folks, commented: “We find that when we go out with the trikes, we often meet someone who knows one of the passengers or who hasn’t seen them since they moved into their new home.
Therefore, it has been a great way to help them reconnect with the community and those familiar faces.”
The electric-assist trikes have been funded by Hitrans, Highland Council Common Good Fund, and many other generous donations – and here at Alert Health, we’re proud to be among those supporting this fantastic organisation.
